So you want to make some yummy planet and people friendly goodies, but there's one thing holding you back....eggs!


How can you bake without eggs?


Don't worry it is 100% possible and you honestly will not miss 'real' eggs at all!


Here are some easy vegan egg substitutes you can use when whipping up those vegan treats.



1. The Flax Egg

Flax seeds are nutritional powerhouses rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, fibre and protein and linked to improved cholesterol and lowered blood pressure, so definitely a good ingredient to add to your baking!


How to Make a Flax Egg:

Measure out 1 tbsp of ground flax seeds and place in a bowl. Add 3 tbsp of water and mix. Allow to stand for 10-15 min until it has formed a gel. Add in the place of eggs in baking. This makes 1 flax egg, just double or triple the amounts to make more 'eggs'.


2. Bananas

Bananas are a fantastic binding ingredient that can replace eggs in vegan baking. They also add additional sweetness to your baked goods! Simply mash up your banana and add it in the place of an egg.



3. Apple Sauce

Apple Sauce is another really good egg replacement that will also add some extra fruitiness to your goodies. Just chop up your apple (you can peel it or leave the skin on its up to you) into small pieces and place it in a pan with a splash of water. Allow the apples to simmer for 15 minutes until nice and soft. Blend until smooth and creamy and add it your mixing bowl in the place of an egg!
